Dr. Travis Montgomery
Travis Montgomery, DPM, FACFAS, AMOS is an expert foot and ankle surgeon providing innovative and evidence-based treatments to patients in Carmel, Indiana. He believes in the philosophy of "save a limb, save a life,” and aims to “keep America walking” through his whole-body approach.
Dr. Montgomery received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Wartburg College, located in Waverly, Iowa, where he was also an NCAA basketball player. He then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned placement on the Dean’s List throughout his tenure. He completed his residency at the Washington Hospital Center, located in Washington, DC., where he received extensive training at the level-one trauma hospital in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and diabetic limb salvage. He then completed a fellowship in advanced external fixation techniques at the Russian Ilizarov Science Center for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopedics in Kurgan Russia. He has a particular interest in Charcot foot reconstruction, and has completed missionary services in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, and on Native American reservations in Arizona.
Dr. Montgomery is board certified in foot and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American Microsurgical Orthoplastic Society, where extensive technical skill is mastered for lower extremity plastic surgery techniques consisting of muscle flaps, fasciocutaneous flaps, and nerve pathology of the lower extremity. He has more than 15 years of experience in wound healing, amputation prevention surgery, and foot and ankle deformity correction. He resides in the Indianapolis area and enjoys playing golf in his free time.
